"THE MISSING LINK"

For some time now, I have been working to track down the history of the wagon I am restoring. Tracking down the post-war whereabouts of the wagon has not been too hard as only three seem to have survived to the present day. Of the three surviving wagons, two were recovered from the British Channel Islands in the 1960's and the third wagon was located in the far north of Norway. I would be very interested to hear of any other wagons that you might know of!

I am trying to locate the previous owner of my wagon, Guy Franz Arend of the former Victory Memorial Museum located near Arlons, Belgium. It has been closed for some time now and has been relocated to the United States under a new owner. No contact information seems to be available for Mr. Arend and all my efforts to locate him have proven unsuccessful.

My hope is that Mr. Arend can provide the historic details of the history of this wagon including from whom he acquired the wagon. This would provide the "missing link" to verify that it was one of the two wagons removed from the German storage tunnels constructed during the occupation of the Channel Islands. All the evidence points to this conclusion but a confirmation would be outstanding! One of the two wagons removed from the Channel Islands is well documented and is now on display in a private French museum. The second wagon (possibly the one I own) seems to have vanished once it left the Channel Islands. The Norwegian wagon was recovered from the outdoors many years ago and is now in good hands awaiting a proper restoration.

If you can help contact Mr. Arend, your help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you!
